About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Lead Technical Business Analyst – AI / Data to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams across Engineering, AI, and Data functions.The role will be responsible for translating business requirements into clear technical specifications, user stories, and actionable tasks while supporting project planning, resource utilisation, delivery efficiency, and data-driven decision-making.The ideal candidate will have strong Business Analysis experience within a technical or software development environment, with a solid understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and experience working with cross-functional technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business needs and requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and documentation for development teams.
- Break down complex business and technical problems into structured, manageable tasks.
- Work closely with Engineering, AI/ML, Data, and other technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and effectively delivered.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives, technical requirements, project scope, and delivery timelines.
- Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Facilitate effective communication between business stakeholders, Engineering, AI, and Data teams.
- Clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities, and ensure stakeholders remain aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate complex technical concepts in clear and understandable business language.
- Maintain and optimise the internal repository of technical skills, capabilities, and project potential to support effective team utilisation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to manage project allocations and upcoming resource requirements.
- Track bench resources and support effective allocation of available technical talent.
- Assist in balancing team workloads based on current and upcoming project requirements.
- Monitor resource availability and identify opportunities to improve team utilisation.
- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and gaps within project delivery processes.
- Recommend and implement streamlined workflows to improve operational efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across project and delivery operations.
- Monitor project progress and help identify potential delivery risks or resource constraints.
- Maintain and analyse project scorecards, resource availability reports, and related operational metrics.
- Provide meaningful insights to support project planning, resource allocation, and management decision-making.
- Track project and resource-related data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare clear reports and updates for relevant stakeholders and management.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within a technical, software development, technology, AI, or data-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Good knowledge of Agile/Scrum project management methodologies.
- Experience working with technical teams such as Software Engineering, Data, AI/ML, or Technology.
- Strong experience translating business requirements into technical requirements, user stories, and actionable development tasks.
- Proven ability to analyse complex problems and develop structured, practical solutions.
- Strong understanding of project and resource management processes.
