Purchasing Executive

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies specific to the tea industry.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with material suppliers ensure the supply of premium quality materials related to tea industry.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers while ensuring the cost-effectiveness and quality of products.
• Stay updated with market trends and tea industry insights to make informed purchasing decisions.
• Collaborate with the production and quality control teams to align purchasing with production requirements and quality standards.
Manage and monitor inventory levels to ensure timely availability of materials.
• Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities, including supplier evaluations, order tracking, and cost analyses.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing within the tea industry.
• In-depth knowledge of the tea industry and supplier landscape.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in English and Sinhala. Additional language skills are a plus. Competent in using Microsoft Office applications and purchasing software.
• Ability to work strategically under pressure and meet deadlines.
