About the Role
We are seeking an experienced QE Manager – Automation Testing to lead our Quality Engineering function. This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for driving quality engineering best practices, test automation, and continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation testing, CI/CD integration, quality strategy, and mentoring engineering teams while remaining actively involved in automation development and complex testing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and implement quality engineering best practices across manual, automated, and non-functional testing.
- Define test strategies, quality plans, estimations, and testing approaches aligned with product delivery goals.
- Drive automation initiatives by designing, enhancing, and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks.
- Improve automation processes and integrate testing into modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Quality Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and business stakeholders to embed quality throughout the SDLC.
- Identify quality risks early and recommend practical solutions to ensure reliable and timely software releases.
- Define, monitor, and report quality metrics to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
- Improve testing standards, engineering practices, and release management processes.
- Support resource planning and provide technical guidance across multiple projects.
- Remain hands-on by contributing to automation development, testing, and troubleshooting of complex quality-related issues when required.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a QE Manager, Senior QE Lead, QA Automation Lead, or similar technical leadership role.
- Strong hands-on experience with automation testing and test framework development.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable automation frameworks and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and modern software development practices.
- Experience in test planning, effort estimation, risk assessment, and quality strategy within Agile environments.
- Proven ability to mentor and lead Quality Engineers while building a collaborative engineering culture.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working closely with clients, developers, product teams, and business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance quality and delivery objectives.
- Hands-on experience investigating and resolving complex testing and quality-related issues.
Nice to Have
- Experience with performance testing and security testing.
- Knowledge of engineering metrics such as DORA.
- Experience working in consulting environments or across multiple industry domains.
- Exposure to modern DevOps and CI/CD practices.
